About the course

Objectives:

Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:

  1.  Ensure that all sterilization processes achieve a minimum Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10^-6, guaranteeing that no more than one viable microorganism is present in a million sterile units.
  2.  Implement a regular maintenance and calibration schedule for all sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves, ethylene oxide systems) to ensure optimal performance.
  3. Develop and implement standardized sterilization protocols for different types of medical instruments and devices to ensure consistent outcomes.
  4. Establish a continuous monitoring system for sterilization processes, including tracking sterilization cycles, loads, and outcomes to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  5. Generate quarterly reports on sterilization  outcomes, with at least three quality improvement initiatives implemented annually based on data analysis.
